Spirit of Man, Rise Up and Proclaim, Hosanna in the Highest

The thirst of man unquenchable,

Tarries but not a day,

The thought of poised and rested soul,

Remains impossible until decay!

We run and squirm our whole lives through,

But oft have lost our way,

The spirit of God, through His Son,

Tortured, thorned and crucified;

Our sin-debt He did pay.

Through crowning resurrection,

With Holy Spirit,

A road for salvation, eternal,

He surely did not delay!

Humility and obedience

Can scarcely begin to repay.

To glorify and praise His name,

Our heart sings forth, Hosanna!

And heavenly angels on harps and lyres,

With majesty and joyful celebration

Doth play!

And in God's celestial grace and mercy,

His loving arms for us He gives, to lay.
